Contact Lens Fitting and Evaluation

Contacts lenses are another option available to anyone in need of nearsighted, farsighted or astigmatic correction. All of our contact lens wearers undergo additional contact lens-related tests. These tests are necessary to make sure your eyes are healthy, that your lenses fit properly, and to ensure you are seeing as well as possible. After a thorough evaluation of your visual needs and eye helath, we work with you to determine the type and brand of contact lenses that will provide optimum vision, comfort, eye health and convenience. You will be given a pair of trial lenses and complete instructions on proper lens care and handling.

We will schedule you to return for a re-evaluation of the lens fit and design after you have had an opportunity to adapt to your new contact lenses. This will ensure that you can be a successful contact lens wearer and minimize any complications relating to your contact lenses.

Existing CL wearers receive a contact lens evaluation along with their yearly comprehensive examinations to ensure that the contacts continue to provide good vision and comfort while maintaining ocular health. This includes a detailed history of the patient’s CL experience, evaluation of the contact lens fit, measurement of the corneal curvature and determination of the current contact lens prescription.
